One of the athletes joining in our 110 Miles for $110K is Kellie Smirnoff. A Jacksonville businesswoman, Kellie participates in endurance sports as a “hobby” (she won’t train more than 2.5 hours on a workday, and that includes the drive!) To understate what will become very obvious in a moment, we’re pretty impressed with her hobby. Kellie recently won the EPICMAN Challenge in O’ahu Hawaii. Beating out a field of all male competitors, Kellie completed the event in 48 hours, 30 minutes and 50 seconds. Supported by her ‘all sister’ crew, Kellie swam 7.2 miles, biked 336 miles and finished up with an amazing 78.6 mile run.
Kellie is running the 110 Miles in honor of her Grandmother. She will share the course with her sister, Ironman finisher and coach Heather Jones. No stranger to endurance events, Heather was part of the support and motivation that helped Kellie complete the EPICMAN challenge.
We are honored to have Kellie and Heather joining us for such an amazing cause
